  • We are proud to present our 2023 With Care campaign featuring our members and the individuals that make it happen, our Difference Makers. Their dedication and passion for our mission drives our efforts to meet our members where they are, when and how they need it. As a local company, it’s essential we support local businesses and approach each project with a diverse, equitable lens. For our campaign, it was important to us to use a local agency partner, with a talented female lead producer and staff, to bring this campaign to life. Watch the campaign here. With Care,

  • For over 40 years we’ve been proudly supporting the Maryland Association of School Business Officials (ASBO). Each year, the ASBO Spring Conference brings together hundreds of school business leaders to learn and share ways they can improve business practices for positive student performance. We encourage attendees to stop by the CareFirst booth during the conference to learn more about the organization and the virtual-first primary care platform, CloseKnit! #MentalHealthAwarnessMonth is a fundamental time for our communities to come together to talk about mental and behavioral health. Our organization is proud to provide individuals dealing with homelessness and mental illnesses, with housing and supportive services. Our impact in the communities we serve wouldn’t be possible without the support our great partners like CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. In the past year, with support from a behavioral health grant from CareFirst, our organization has been able to positively impact 2,074 lives! We're energized by the success of this program so far and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish over the next two years. #MHAM2024 #CareFirstCares

  • As part of our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month celebration, we're excited to highlight the diverse backgrounds and identities of our #DifferenceMakers that strengthen our CareFirst culture. Anne Fu, Sr. Report Analyst and one of our AAPI United Employee Resource Group's (ERG) members, originally joined to help promote Asia's rich cultural identity and heritage. She was drawn to the AAPI United ERG because she saw the opportunity to help embrace a culture of inclusion and to build awareness and appreciation for diversity. Anne has a passion for connecting with others at CareFirst and in the community, promoting Asia's vibrant culture and empowering fellow Difference Makers. Through her involvement in the AAPI United ERG, Anne strives to offer more resources, like seminars on Asian heritage, volunteer opportunities and events to raise cultural awareness. We're looking forward to an exciting year for the AAPI United ERG and its members! #CareFirstCares #AAPIHeritageMonth

We’re proud to recognize one of our #DifferenceMakers making a meaningful impact in Northern Virginia—Jeanine Finch! Jeanine is being honored as an Alexandria Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 recipient for her extensive work in the area. As a local Northern Virginian and devoted External Affairs Manager for CareFirst, Jeanine has continuously proven her deep commitment to the community. • Our #DifferenceMakers had a busy April! Last month, over 400 of our employees spent over 2,700 hours giving back to our communities. In honor of Earth Month, our Action on Sustainability, Climate Change and the Environment Employee Resource Group (ASCE ERG) helped coordinate and promote several projects focused on environmental work across Maryland and the Washington, D.C. area. Difference Makers joined the spring cleanups in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., helped at farms and gardens, removed litter from natural environments and more. We’re proud to have such dedicated employees who care for our community and planet. #CareFirstCares #Volunteering

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) signs aren’t always visible, but these “invisible wounds” can still have a significant physical and mental impact on a person’s life and the lives of their families and friends. Watching a loved one struggle with their mental health can be difficult and leaves families uncertain of how to help. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we welcomed Morgan Stanley’s Veteran Employee Network Group (ENG) to our Baltimore headquarters for the “Invisible Wounds, Visible Impact: Understanding Family Resilience in PTSD” event hosted by our Families and Caregivers Employee Resource Group (ERG) and Military and Veterans Resource Group. For the event, members from the ERGs shared their experiences and strategies as part of the military community for coping with PTSD as a family unit. Attendees left with valuable insights into the challenges many of our neighbors face and what they can do to support them. #CareFirstCares #MHAM

  • It's Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and CareFirst's AAPI United Employee Resource Group (ERG) works tirelessly throughout the year to celebrate and connect the diverse voices of the AAPI United community at CareFirst. The AAPI United ERG hosts events all month long for AAPI Heritage Month, as well as programming throughout the year. We spoke to Rajan Gupta, Software Engineering Manager and a member of the AAPI United ERG Media/Communications Leadership Team, who shared his favorite parts of working with the AAPI United ERG. #CareFirstCares #AAPIHeritageMonth
