Fluor announced today that its joint venture with Austin Bridge & Road – Lone Star Constructors, NEX – has broken ground on Phase 1 of the Interstate 35 (I-35) Northeast Expansion (NEX) South project in San Antonio, Texas, for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). For the eighth consecutive year, employees from Fluor's Gliwice, Poland, office participated in the Wings for Life World Run, a global charity run benefiting spinal cord injury research. During the event, each participant runs as far as they can rather than racing a fixed distance. The members of the Fluor team collectively ran 313 kilometers, finishing in the top 6% of the more than 9,000 participating teams. For the third year in a row, the iMAGINE Upstate STEAM Festival in Greenville, South Carolina, was fueled by Fluor as the title sponsor. More than 18,000 students and their families were estimated to have attended the festival, which showcases science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) disciplines through fun, hands-on learning activities. This year, we introduced a new exhibit centered on our work with Longview Fusion Energy Systems to design and build the world's first laser fusion power plant. A team led by Mission Solutions' J.D. Dowell, Fred Beranek and Lisa Davies partnered with Fluor Cares and Greenville Technical College to develop kid-friendly experiments that made the concept of fusion power understandable and compelling. Two dozen volunteers donated more than 130 hours of their time to design, build and execute the exhibit. #BuildingABetterWorld #FluorCares #STEAM #STEM #STEMEducation

As we celebrate safety this week, we're pleased to share that our Farnborough, United Kingdom, office has been recognized once again for its commitment to health, safety and wellbeing. Acknowledging the office's safety initiatives and performance in 2023, the British Safety Council recognized Fluor Limited with an International Safety Award, and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents awarded the office its ninth consecutive Gold Medal Award.
