I recently used My Painter for some exterior wood staining and washing, and painting of an interior bathroom. Harrison was great in providing his expertise on how to handle the wood, and the Paint job looks great inside too. I would recommend them for sure. The project manager, Jennifer, communicated well.

My Painter replaced the soffit, fascia, and gutters around our roof after we found squirrels getting into our attic. They did an excellent job! The communications from Jen were wonderful to have re: their scheduling. They were very conscientious as far as our neighbors were concerned and the clean up from the job. Daniel, the lead person, was great! (P.S. they took good care of the baby squirrels they found in a nest and we were able to bring them to a rescue place to be saved). I would highly recommend My Painter!

Painting! We had dry wall work and our entire basement repainted this time around. We have used this company in the past on exterior painting. We highly recommend this company and the workmanship of the crew. The paint looks fantastic and we already had a few neighbors ask about using this company.

We hired MyPainter based on several glowing reviews and the company's stated commitment to excellent communication. Ultimately, we were pleased with the end result but would not hire them again due to a lack of communication regarding a change in the type of paint used and a rush to finish the project in two days necessitating a return to finish painting.
We signed a contract for Sherwin Williams air-purifying technology paint, which MyPainter said was available and confirmed to us via text a few days before the project commenced. The contracted-for paint type was used on the ceilings, but MyPainter painted the walls with the sanitizing paint type, not the air-purifying type. The contract we signed allowed MyPainter to replace paint materials with substantially equivalent materials if the contracted materials were unavailable. However, they did not inform us of this change at the start of the project or the end of the project. We discovered the change when they left extra paint cans at the end of the project. When we reached out to inquire about the change, we initially received a very curt response--that we could call the company number and ask--before finally getting an emailed explanation that the paint we contracted for was now no longer available. Although we understand these are both high-quality no-VOC paints, they DO have different functions, and we're extremely disappointed that a company that prides itself on communication would not have given us a courtesy heads-up that they were invoking that part of the contract.
Also, at the start of the project they had informed us that it would be a two/three day project. They seemed to rush the project at the end in an effort to be done in two days, necessitating a return for approximately 2.5 hours of what they characterized as "touch-up work," which included completing trim, covering a large rectangular section of the wall that clearly had only received one coat, and cleaning up areas where the color had dripped. Attached are pictures of what needed additional attention.
At the end of everything, a fresh coat of brighter paint always makes a home look better, and we aren't necessarily disappointed with how our living area looks. Also, our project manager certainly emailed frequently and kept us informed of the progress. However, we went with MyPainter (which was not the lowest quote we received) because we thought paying a higher price would result in greater attention to detail and communication. We will look elsewhere for a company to provide painting services in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Faye F.Richmond, VA044Apr 20, 2022
I highly recommend Harrison and his team. They have painted the exterior of my home (2017 or so) and the whole interior (just completed in early April). A few photos provided. Reliable, reasonably priced, attention to detail, listens to and cares about the customer.
I worked with Ted as the lead on the recent interior painting project. He would email me each day, giving a status update and plan for the next day. The level of communication and coordination was terrific.
This business has grown since 2017 when I first worked with them and I am struck by how Harrison has been able to expand AND maintain the personalized, friendly feeling. Super impressive group. Highly recommend and would definitely work with them again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mary Jane W.Arlington, VA289Sep 22, 2022
Top marks go to the team at MyPainter! From the initial meeting to determine the scope of work to the last bit of painting, the MyPainter oversight staff and onsite crew conducted themselves as true professionals. There were no surprises or extra costs to which I didn't give my approval. I am a very satisfied customer and recommend them to anyone looking to take on a painting project. Thank you!

We had a very good experience with them. The results speak for themselves. No surprises or extra costs. Very professional and respectful crew. The supervisor came daily to check progress. Would use them again.

My wife and I moved to VA a few years back and originally had our house painted by another team based out of Maryland.
We called MyPainter because they are local (we wanted to support local businesses), and because the job wasn't that big so we were looking to work with somebody who could come quickly, do a good job, and who we might have on hand for repairs and touch ups in the future.
MyPainter was the perfect match for us. Their sales leader Harrison came within a few days of us requesting a quote and was always available by phone and email. We had a scheduling delay due to basement repairs, and when I called him, he didn't fuss at all about moving the paint job to another day, which I seriously appreciated, as in my experience, moving scheduling can be a big pain.
When his team came, they were so sweet, kind, and prompt. They showed up everyday at 8 AM and - seriously bless them - on the first day they waited until 9 AM as not to wake us up. After that I told them I woke up at 6 AM so anytime was fine - especially if it made the job easier : )
This was seriously hard work - 8 hours of taping and spraying in a 5 foot basement. They did it all with smiles and kindness, and in the end, asked me to walk through with them to make sure they hadn't missed anything.
I think a lot of people complain when things "aren't right" - but in my experience its only human that things will be missed. What's far more important in my opinion is their willingness to listen and make things right when pointed out (we all are human after all). They did this to an exemplary degree. I am going to be calling them again when I need more touch ups and other jobs around the house.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eric R.Arlington, VA1456Jan 6, 2019
Let me start by saying that i really wanted to like these guys. Harrison, the owner, seemed like a genuinely nice guy, and I am all about supporting local businesses. I initially came to My Painter after the painter my realtor recommended told me he was completely booked and would not be able to meet my deadline. Given the good reviews I thought I would take a gamble on My Painter. It was a gamble I would lose.
The price I was quoted for my two bedroom (1100 sq foot) seemed high, 5k, but I thought "you get what you pay for." Wrong again. To make a long story short the paint job that I received was shoddy, rushed and unprofessional. The team originally stated that they needed three days to do the job and they took four. In fairness, on one of the days the electricity went out, but that did not excuse leaving my bathtub covered in paint. Paint splattered on closet floors, uneven lines, and paint drips, in addition to a kitchen sink left with a drain full of paint. Two months later, I still find paint splatters on my bath room mirrors.
In fairness when I called Harrison he came over to correct most of the mess that had been left, but there was no fixing what was essentially substandard work (paint hinges painted over etc). When I expressed my displeasure over the abysmal execution of what should have been a straight forward job, Harrison asked what i wanted him to do. I replied that this was an opportunity for him to step up and do what he thought was right. Apparently Harrison thought knocking $250 off a 5k tab was the right thing to do. In my opinion this did not go nearly far enough. I will post pictures of the "finished job" that I came home to and let the reader decide for him/herself whether what I received was worth nearly 5k. Although I have zero painting skills, I am fairly confident that if I had done this myself I could not have done a worse job and quite possibly better than what I received.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Eric, the pictures you are posting do not reflect the finished work. These pictures were taken before our final walk through and you’re using them now as a way of falsely publicizing our company. Once the project was finished and we had our final walk through, you found one touch up out of the entire project that was quickly fixed. Anyone that is considering using us as their painters, feel free to ask about this project in more detail or see the finished photos we have on this project.
Your project was priced in line with what you had asked for. We used two coats and in some areas three coats of top of the line quality materials. We removed wallpaper and smoothed popcorn areas down as an example of the extra amount of preparation that was involved.
I initially budgeted three days for this project, however you offered us the week as the condo was vacant which helped when the power was out for the day.
The floors were being replaced but we did leave the floors spotless before the final walk through. The bathtub was the only available wash station outside of the kitchen sink. The bathtub was cleaned before the final walk through. In response to the other pictures; we cleaned the paint that cracked after it dried once the door was opened. The outlets and cover plates that were not painted were removed before we painted and the old ones that were previously painted were painted to match. The area that has dripping paint on the wall was due to the high level of moister but was fixed before final walk through.
We’ve reached out to you to have another walk through in case anything was missed but we have not heard back. - Emily N.Alexandria, VA013Dec 13, 2021
This is the best painting company I have used. They aren't the cheapest, but it was a solid value. The owner was great with communication, the project manager was lovely, and the painter was amazing! I am so pleased with the results and will go to them first with future projects. Highly recommend!
