      The unmistakable scent of rotten eggs, a telltale sign of a gas leak, filled our home. Without hesitation, I contacted Washington Gas for assistance. To my surprise, a representative named Manny W arrived at our doorstep within an hour.

      Manny's expertise and dedication were truly remarkable. He spent a considerable amount of time troubleshooting in our home to locate the source of the leak. His service was exceptional, and his professionalism and gentle nature were greatly appreciated.

      I am incredibly grateful for Manny's assistance and pleased with my overall experience with Washington Gas.

      Living in Maryland, Washington Gas is the only gas company that is approved for my area of Maryland. They have a monopoly so not much one can do.
      I made an appointment to have my gas meter inspected within a 5-hour window-noon to 5:00 pm. No show, No phone call. I called them the next day and asked what happened. Told so sorry, how about today same time frame. I said ok. Another 5 hours waiting. No show and no phone call again. I called on the third day to ask and the customer service "advocate" (what a joke) told me I would have to make another appointment for the following week, or six days later. I asked to speak to a supervisor who had to call me back. At least they did call. She told me that he Notes said the inspector had been there at 7:15 pm Halloween night. I said I did not think so because I had given out candy (til after 8:00pm) and never saw a truck or person. Plus, it was pitch black out, so how did he get into my backyard with a gated 6+ft fence and walk around the whole house to get to the meter and see anything. And, no tag left to say Washington Gas had been there. She offered another appointment the following week and I said no. Then said she would try for three days hence. Oh, and if they need to replace the gas meter, it's another appointment. So infuriating and frustrating. Maybe someone has to say gas leak to get service.
      I was surprised with the recent interface with them. Previously, my only contact had been when the gas lines were replaced and relined in my neighborhood a few years ago. That service was excellent, tho it was contracted. S.Hudson

      Washington Gas did some service on our neighborhood's pipes last week (Annandale). We have not had gas since they left on Wednesday. I've called every day, sometimes more than once. Each time I'm told
      a technician is on the way. No one has shown up. Not on Thursday, not on Friday, not on Saturday morning, not on Saturday afternoon, not on Monday morning, and not Monday evening. That's all the times we were promised a technician was coming.We have gone without hot water for 6 days now. They are just blatantly blowing me off!

      I wish I could put negative stars. I've lived all over the world and this is by far the worst utility service ever. I really wish there were any other company to choose from.

      I'd give zero stars if I could. In the middle of a billing dispute that's on month 3 and counting. Washington Gas claims that I really am using winter levels of gas during the summer, which I reject. I have filed a complaint w/the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC). If I could use a gas provider other than Washington Gas, I would

      It took almost a week to be able get somebody to pick up the call to schedule a day to switch the gas from old account to my account. Prior to calls I had even sent them mails while ago which did not help at all.

      Well based upon my now experience with Washington gas I'm going to say that the majority wins with the low ratings and or zero Stars that being said I had scheduled on three occasions for a rep to come and look at the Heat so I can start my service, first time last Tuesday nobody knocks on the door but they leave a notice on the door saying that I missed a service visit from them that was the first stupid move on their part because I should have at least gotten a phone call saying hey we are on our way per what I was requesting the whole entire time from when I was talking to a rep over the phone when scheduling the appointment, second time a representative came and I heard the knock on the door and it was a lady which I just learned today her name is Kelly who's a contractor with Washington Gas I was simply trying to tell her that the meters that she needed to get into was in the back of the house and immediately she got defensive, impatient and rude saying that she needs to go inside to relight the stove and other appliances and I was simply trying to tell her that the stove self lights itself and trying to read her some instructions per my landlord and other contractor wanted me to let WG know and she again gave me an attitude and by this time she was already in her truck I gave my landlord a call to let him know what was going on and after debriefing my landlord and getting the okay from him I went back outside to let her know okay come inside and by that time she had already left I called Washington Gas for them to send somebody else to come on that same day and let them know what happened with previous contractor and nobody came even after the fact that the representative over the phone told me that they would send somebody else on the same day so that's the second bad strike that they have with me so we fast forward to today and it is the same representative and this time she has a male with her and she tries to make a smart remark saying I am back are you ready for me this time and I stopped her dead in her tracks I said ma'am I said I was simply trying to explain to you the instructions per my landlord had told me and I said but you didn't give me a chance to get that far and you just left and then she makes a reply oh well I figured that after the third time that I went inside to talk to my landlord on the phone that I didn't want service which I don't know why she would think that but anyway I told her I said ma'am I said you didn't even let me get that far I said I am a renter here I said if my landlord has specific directions that he wants me to give to you as a contractor then that's what I have to do and I told her there were other instructions from a HVAC contractor regarding the meter from AC unit that was installed last week that I was trying to tell her about but she didn't listen and then she said that she didn't want an argument and I told her I said I'm not arguing I said I'm simply was just trying to let you know everything that my landlord wanted me to tell you meaning Kelly the Washington Gas contractor but she didn't want to listen and drove off when I tried to get her to come do the work and then she tried to make a reply well your landlord doesn't know everything that and I stopped there again and I said ma'am you have to be professional regarding this situation and I said again my landlord wanted me to give you instructions so that's what I have to do I said I am a renter here this is my landlord's house I have to follow suit so then finally her and the other representative go around the back and they look at the meter and they discovered that there was a plug inside of it which is why the heat wasn't working so they fixed it, and they looked at the closet to check the other stuff regarding Heat and it literally took them about to do everything including Kelly lighting the stove tops probably at most 20 minutes or less which is something that could have been easily done last week had Kelly been professional, patient, and listened to what I was trying to tell her last Friday and all though toward the end of today 8/30/22 she was trying to be a tiny bit nicer but still on certain situations first impression is a lasting impression which is why i say Washington Gas SHAME ON YOU!!!! Keep in mind also that some of us do have odd work night schedules so an exact time of arrival and phone call would be nice when customer request it, this company needs to GRAB ONTO REALITY AND HOLD ON TIGHT, THEY HAVE WASTED A LOT OF MY TIME, SERIOUSLY, ENDLESSLY, UTTERLY RIDICULOUS!!!!

      I have been trying to reach out Washington gas to transfer the service to my account. It has been 20 days. I tried to call multiple times and each time after 50 mins of waiting the call was hanged up. I tried email a few times and never had any response. This is too ridiculous!!!

      Is there any other option for natural gas Service in Vienna, VA? I've literally spent all morning on hold just trying to setup service. I go to the website and fill out the form to start service and it says, "your request cannot be processed at this time, please call customer service"

      I'm calling the number that they have on the website (844-927-4427), does anybody know of another number that can be used to get through?

      I'm at a loss for how to start service if no one answers the phone and the website is broken...?

      I wish their is a zero rating for Washington gas in general. I am looking for an easement later for my county but no one knows in the entire department.
